First Aid Couple Coaching

Our First Aid Couple Coaching is a little different to marriage therapy, couples counselling or other interventions you may have experienced before. It is based on our Couple to Couple Christian Therapeutic Coaching approach which you can learn more about here.

In the safety and confidentiality of the coaching sessions we will help you recognise your relational dynamic and invite you to see how you both might be contributing to the issues and disconnection in the relationship. During the sessions you will uncover any past hurts, unspoken expectations, underlying fears and differing needs that might be impacting the relationship. Through understanding, forgiveness, prayer (where applicable) and practical tools you’ll learn how to rebuild your connection and find a more positive way of relating together.

First Aid Couple Coaching is suitable when both of you:
  • Recognise there is a problem in your relationship.
  • Are prepared to take responsibility for your contribution to the issue(s).
  • Are committed to making changes to improve the relationship.
  • Have the “energy” to work through these changes.
In certain situations, you may need more specialised help than we are able to offer. For example, if any of the following apply, please visit our further help page for the relevant organisations who would be better suited to help. Before we start the coaching process, you'll both be asked to complete an assessment tool called Prepare/Enrich. This will take you about 45 minutes to complete online. The report will help us start to form an overview of your relationship, focusing on both your strengths and areas for growth.

Our coaching sessions take place online and each 90 minute session will be £150 (£100 per hour) and is payable in a four-session bundle, in advance. For couples in crisis we recommend weekly sessions initially.

The one-off cost of the assessment tool is £30 which is payable directly to Prepare/Enrich once we start the process.

We have a limited number of means tested bursaries available for those on low household incomes. If you think you may be eligible, information can be found on our bursary page.

As part of the process we can also offer, one day online intensives if:
  • You are keen to accelerate the coaching process by having a number of sessions in a short space of time.
  • Your circumstances would make it difficult to fit in weekly sessions.
  • You prefer concentrated times to work through issues.
Please let us know on the form if this is something you'd prefer and we'll give you more details on costs and availability.
